About this role

Role overview

Administer the database platforms and data-loading operations that make Epic reporting and analytics data available to downstream teams. The focus is on keeping Clarity and Caboodle environments healthy and ETL workflows dependable, rather than primarily creating reports or dashboards.

Responsibilities

- Maintain production and nonproduction Clarity and Caboodle systems, including configuration, patches, upgrades, and coordinated refreshes. - Schedule and monitor extracts and ETL jobs, troubleshoot failures or delays, manage dependencies, and explain data availability impacts. - Track database growth and performance, maintain indexes and statistics, and investigate bottlenecks with database and infrastructure teams. - Manage database access and service accounts, validate backups and restores, and participate in disaster recovery testing. - Assess the effects of Epic updates and schema changes, coordinate operational testing, and verify successful data loads after maintenance. - Maintain runbooks and recovery documentation, automate routine checks, and reduce recurring failures to improve data delivery.

Requirements

- At least three years administering both Clarity and Caboodle in a hospital or health system, including production support; report development alone is not sufficient. - Current Epic certifications in Clarity Administration and Caboodle Administration. - Hands-on experience operating Clarity extracts and Caboodle ETL workflows, including troubleshooting, recovery, and load validation. - Strong SQL skills and practical Microsoft SQL Server administration experience, including jobs, permissions, performance monitoring, and backup and recovery. - Experience with Clarity Console, Caboodle administration tools, and SQL Server Integration Services where used. - Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills for explaining data-loading issues and reporting impacts to technical and operational audiences.

Nice to have

- Experience with large hospital reporting environments, downstream business intelligence tools, or improvements to ETL reliability, runtime, or operating efficiency. - Familiarity with cloud technologies and automation.

Benefits and work setup

- Compensation varies by geographic market and may include incentives, equity awards, and an employee stock purchase plan.
