The role covers the server lifecycle from component selection and burn-in through deployment and ongoing operations, with responsibility for environments where data may need to remain on site.
Responsibilities - Select, assemble, test, and deploy GPU compute servers, storage systems, and network equipment. - Manage colocation and on-premises fleets, including provisioning, firmware and BIOS updates, out-of-band access, capacity planning, and hardware lifecycle. - Set up restricted-network or air-gapped installations, applying disk encryption, key management, and physical and network hardening. - Operate connectivity and monitoring across owned hardware and cloud burst capacity, including VPN or WireGuard meshes. - Automate repeatable infrastructure work with configuration management, infrastructure-as-code, image building, scripts, and operational runbooks. - Take part in an on-call rotation and own the reliability of deployed infrastructure.
