Role overview Set the technical direction for connecting enterprise platforms, legacy systems and cloud services. You’ll shape integration patterns and data contracts, guide teams through architectural decisions, and help ensure designs can be implemented and operated reliably.
Responsibilities - Define patterns for platform-to-platform, API and event-driven integrations. - Design data contracts, schema practices and transformation pipelines across different systems. - Assess legacy system capabilities, constraints and integration risks. - Lead technical reviews and document architectural decisions for delivery teams. - Establish governance for API versioning, deprecation, access control and lifecycle management. - Coordinate with cloud, engineering and delivery teams on implementation, testing, monitoring and operational readiness.
Requirements - Substantial experience designing enterprise integrations using approaches such as ESB, middleware, API gateways, event streaming or iPaaS. - Strong understanding of REST, SOAP, GraphQL, EDI and event-based messaging. - Experience with integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services, IBM MQ, Kafka or equivalents. - Ability to explain integration designs and risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Clear documentation and communication skills, plus experience with data governance, compliance constraints or regulated integrations. - Familiarity with API management tools such as Azure APIM, Kong, Apigee or AWS API Gateway.
Nice to have - Experience integrating Salesforce, SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics. - Familiarity with TOGAF, Zachman or another enterprise architecture framework.
