Senior Software Engineer

Role overview

This is a senior engineering role owning a meaningful slice of a production platform end-to-end, spanning edge systems, dashboards, billing, or core APIs. The work targets high-throughput services handling millions of API calls per day with strict latency budgets, making it well suited for engineers who care about reliability and craft at scale. The position is remote and full-time.

Responsibilities

- Design and ship features that process millions of API requests per day within sub-100ms latency budgets - Raise the bar on production reliability, observability, and on-call practices across the team - Mentor less experienced engineers and conduct code reviews that genuinely improve how the team ships - Own at least one system from green-field design through to load-bearing critical path - Make pragmatic build-versus-defer trade-offs grounded in real cost and risk

Requirements

- Seven or more years building production systems where downtime carried real business cost - Demonstrated ability to take a system from blank slate to critical-path infrastructure - Strong pragmatism about scope, prioritizing what to ship now versus what to defer - Deep familiarity with reliability engineering, monitoring, and incident response hygiene - Comfort owning significant surface area and being accountable for its outcomes

- Background operating high-volume API gateways or billing pipelines - Experience with edge platforms or globally distributed request paths
