Responsibilities - Create comprehensive API documentation from OpenAPI Specification files, including endpoint descriptions, parameters, authentication, error handling, and code examples. - Develop SDK documentation covering library installation, configuration, and implementation. - Write integration guides, tutorials, and how-to guides for common developer use cases, plus code examples in multiple languages such as JavaScript, Python, and Go. - Document webhooks, authentication mechanisms, and best practices for API consumption. - Manage code-to-doc workflows by parsing and organizing API specifications with tools such as Swagger and OpenAPI. - Leverage generative AI tools to accelerate initial drafts from code, OpenAPI specs, and code samples, then evaluate and refine AI output for accuracy, completeness, clarity, and brand voice. - Collaborate with engineering to extract technical information, clarify undocumented behavior, and ensure accuracy, while working with GitHub to manage documentation changes alongside code releases. - Implement and test code samples for accuracy, maintain documentation consistency across endpoints, SDKs, and guides, and contribute to documentation standards, style guides, and audits for technical debt.

Requirements - 10+ years of technical writing experience with a portfolio demonstrating strong API reference documentation and code examples. - Proven experience with OpenAPI Specification and REST APIs. - Proficiency with GitHub and markdown-based documentation workflows. - Strong working knowledge of at least 2–3 programming languages. - Solid grasp of API design principles, including REST and GraphQL concepts, and the ability to communicate them clearly to developers.

Nice to have - Experience documenting SDKs or client libraries, and familiarity with code-to-doc automation tools and AI-assisted documentation generators. - Portfolio examples showing use of generative AI to accelerate documentation creation, including evaluating and improving AI-generated technical content. - Contributions to open-source documentation projects, experience with documentation analytics and user feedback integration, and familiarity with developer experience workflows. - Hands-on experience with ReadMe, MkDocs, or similar documentation platforms, plus prompt engineering techniques for API documentation and code examples.
