Platform Engineer

Role overview Build and operate the cloud foundations and engineering tools that help a software team ship reliably. The work combines infrastructure, deployment workflows, security, incident readiness, and reusable platform standards.

Responsibilities - Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure and deployment systems. - Improve identity management, access controls, and secrets handling. - Establish alerting, paging, and a shared on-call rotation; support evidence generation for healthcare and security compliance. - Keep infrastructure-as-code, continuous integration, and merge workflows both efficient and safe as code volume grows. - Document platform practices and create reusable engineering standards.

Requirements - Experience operating production systems on AWS and managing infrastructure with Terraform. - Experience owning incidents through investigation and post-incident review. - Strong PostgreSQL skills, including row-level security, query planning, live-data migrations, and backup restoration. - Practical experience building authentication, access-control, or audit systems, with an understanding of their failure modes. - A problem-solving approach that reduces friction for other engineers and good judgment about the ongoing cost of platform requests.
