About this role
Role overview
Lead the technical evolution of a high-volume virtual payments platform while remaining an active software contributor. The role combines hands-on development with architectural leadership across real-time transaction processing, event-driven and distributed systems, reliability, security, and operational scale. You will help guide a small engineering group through complex, multi-month initiatives and mentor engineers working on systems where correctness and availability are critical.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience delivering production software in a fast-moving environment. - Experience designing and operating event-based systems and advanced distributed systems. - A strong ownership mindset, sound technical judgment, and accountability for outcomes. - Experience leading a small engineering team and delivering substantial migration or re-architecture programs. - Background mentoring and coaching engineers on distributed-systems patterns and engineering best practices. - Ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, operations, and other cross-functional partners. - Clear communication skills and an enthusiasm for learning complex technical and business domains.
