Senior Product Engineer, Collaboration

Role overview

This senior individual-contributor product engineering role focuses on collaboration features for a website publishing and page-building product. The mission is to make publishing a shared activity by enabling simultaneous editing, contextual review, synchronized state, and productive interaction between people and AI-assisted tools. The position is remote from anywhere in Europe, with strong ownership across product discovery, technical decisions, implementation, and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

- Build a high-fidelity website preview inside a page builder while layering selections, comments, and other controls over the rendered site. - Solve browser-level challenges involving embedded content, cross-origin behavior, navigation, storage, and communication between the preview and editor. - Extend real-time collaboration systems to handle connectivity failures, synchronization edge cases, shared state, presence, and low-latency editing. - Design the orchestration, automation, and scheduling needed for AI-generated comments and project signals. - Work across frontend, backend, databases, and infrastructure to deliver complete product experiences. - Partner with users, product, design, and engineering to decide what to build and evaluate whether it improves publishing outcomes.

Requirements

- Strong frontend and browser expertise, including experience with iframes, cross-origin rules, cookies, storage, and browser extensions. - Experience creating embedded or live experiences within pages that are not fully under your control. - Ability to integrate third-party SDKs deeply and handle behavior beyond standard use cases. - Experience building collaborative interfaces with presence, comments, shared state, and concurrent users. - Full-stack capability across frontend, backend, databases, and infrastructure. - Comfort navigating ambiguous product and technical problems independently. - Commitment to testing, observability, and traceability, plus experience with or strong interest in agentic AI systems.

Nice to have

- Experience with content platforms, page builders, rich editing tools, high-growth SaaS, or browser extensions. - Familiarity with TypeScript, Node.js, React, real-time collaboration libraries, AWS, serverless systems, PostgreSQL, AI orchestration frameworks, Playwright, Vitest, and GitHub Actions.
