Remote job
Senior Engineer, Fullstack - Growth
Job details
About this role
Role overview Join a newly formed Growth team that owns the journey between a new account and a first live payment. This is a senior fullstack role with heavy frontend emphasis, where you will shape both the product surface and how the team builds it. Expect significant autonomy on a remote-first, globally distributed team constructing merchant-facing infrastructure.
Responsibilities - Lead frontend architecture and technical direction for the self-serve onboarding and platform experience, with genuine ownership over how it gets built - Spend roughly 80% of hands-on coding time on frontend work and 20% on backend, with the split flexing as team priorities shift - Partner closely with Design to take onboarding flows from concept to production, sweating the details that shape a merchant's first impression - Mentor engineers as the team grows and act as the reference point for frontend craft on the team - Establish frontend conventions, testing approaches, and architecture standards while the team is still being defined - Contribute to the Python backend when needed to unblock frontend work or deliver a feature end to end
Requirements - Strong, demonstrable frontend expertise with production experience architecting complex applications rather than only consuming a design system - Comfort serving as the most senior frontend voice, including pushing back on design or product decisions when the technical reality demands it - Some backend experience alongside genuine willingness to work inside a Python codebase; deep backend mastery is not required - Track record mentoring engineers, ideally including people earlier in their career
Nice to have - Background building or integrating payment products - Experience on growth, onboarding, or activation-focused product surfaces
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote and globally distributed, with co-working access across major cities and periodic in-person offsites - Competitive share options and a generous learning budget - Uncapped holiday with a 25-day minimum - Equipment provided for the role plus a home-office setup allowance - Private medical insurance and additional location-dependent perks
*Note: the team is still forming, so mentoring responsibilities will extend to engineers yet to be hired, and some process and tooling decisions remain open.*
