About this role
Role overview Lead the design of shared analytical models and semantic architecture so teams can rely on consistent, well-governed data products. You will set practical engineering standards, guide architecture decisions, and help move analytics away from isolated reporting logic toward reusable models. The role works across data, product, finance, clinical, research, marketing, and AI functions.
Responsibilities - Establish and evolve modeling standards, including domain boundaries, shared entities, dimensional structures, and semantic layers. - Define workable practices for testing, documentation, lineage, observability, access, code review, and releases. - Guide teams in replacing one-off data marts and dashboard-specific calculations with reusable, governed data products. - Lead architecture reviews, shape system design, document technical decisions, and mentor engineers. - Align trusted measures and dimensions for use in analytics tools, analytical workflows, and governed AI applications. - Put data governance into practice through clear ownership, quality controls, documentation, and adoption processes.
Requirements - At least four years in analytics engineering, data engineering, data architecture, or a related field. - Strong SQL, dbt, dimensional modeling, warehouse design, and analytical data product experience. - Hands-on experience designing semantic or metrics layers for multiple consumers. - Knowledge of data testing, observability, lineage, metadata, access controls, privacy-aware architecture, and software delivery practices. - Ability to lead through influence, make and record technical decisions, and mentor experienced engineers. - Strong communication skills and judgment in balancing shared standards with domain needs and iterative delivery.
Nice to have - Experience with Databricks, Fivetran, Sigma, dbt MetricFlow, or comparable platforms. - Work with regulated healthcare data and a grounding in privacy and responsible data use. - Background in data contracts, domain-oriented data products, governance models, or modernization of analytics environments.
Benefits and work setup - Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is unavailable. - The listed base salary is $165,000–$185,000 in local currency, depending on experience. - Benefits described include health, dental, vision, and mental health coverage; flexible vacation; a retirement savings plan without employer matching; and a complimentary whole-body scan for employees. - The listing also cites growth opportunities and regular team gatherings.
