About this role
Role overview
Lead the engineering strategy and delivery of secure, high-performance software for post-quantum cryptography. You will guide a software engineering team and oversee architecture, implementation, testing, and product delivery for cryptographic libraries, protocols, and related software components. The role works closely with cryptography, hardware, product, and external teams.
Responsibilities
- Set software engineering direction in line with the product roadmap, and lead and mentor engineers and software security specialists. - Oversee the design of cryptographic libraries, secure protocols, and software components optimized for post-quantum algorithms. - Guide architecture for performance and scalability across embedded, mobile, cloud, and data centre environments. - Coordinate delivery across software, cryptography, hardware, and external partners using Agile practices. - Strengthen testing, verification, and CI/CD processes, and communicate progress and technical decisions to stakeholders. - Maintain secure development practices, including secure coding, cryptographic agility, and resistance to implementation attacks such as side-channel and fault-injection attacks.
Requirements
- A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, with relevant cryptography or cybersecurity focus. - At least 10 years of software development experience, including at least five years in a leadership role. - Strong experience in software security and cryptographic implementations; familiarity with libraries such as OpenSSL or BoringSSL and post-quantum cryptography. - Experience developing and validating secure software in C, C++, Rust, or other relevant languages, and delivering products from concept to market. - Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, protocols, key management, security architecture, and post-quantum standards. - Hands-on understanding of Agile delivery and secure software practices; embedded or IoT security experience is relevant.
