Job details
About this role
Role overview This senior fullstack engineering position sits on a Customer Context team that builds the foundational services, APIs, and data pipelines powering an AI-driven messaging platform used by thousands of e-commerce brands. The role blends deep backend engineering with data-intensive systems work, helping marketers deliver targeted, context-aware experiences. Engineers are expected to be active practitioners of AI-first development, using agentic coding tools as a default part of their craft.
Responsibilities - Take end-to-end ownership of systems and product areas, becoming the go-to technical expert for what you ship - Independently investigate, design, and deliver solutions across distributed systems where ambiguity is the norm - Architect and maintain highly available, scalable REST APIs and backend services for both internal and external consumers - Drive modularization, decoupling, and technical debt reduction without blocking near-term delivery - Use concurrent agentic workflows to keep multiple aligned workstreams moving - Bring new AI techniques and tools back to the team, helping shape how AI creates leverage across the engineering org - Collaborate asynchronously with product, data, and go-to-market teams to align priorities - Identify single points of failure and strengthen system resilience and knowledge redundancy
Requirements - 6+ years of experience building large-scale, data-intensive backend systems and APIs - Active daily user of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or Copilot, with concrete examples of how they changed your workflow - Working knowledge of several of: Python, Go, Rust, React, and TypeScript - Close following of the AI tooling landscape, including new models and emerging agentic practices - Hands-on experience with event-driven distributed systems, Kafka, and distributed data processing (Flink, Spark, or similar) - Experience designing high-scale systems on AWS with a variety of database technologies (RDBMS, OLAP, NoSQL) - Comfort with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform) and observability tooling like Datadog or Signoz on AWS and Kubernetes
Nice to have - Experience growing systems from early days through multi-terabyte production loads - Strong instincts for technical tradeoffs balancing engineering best practices with business priorities
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote within the US or Canada - Base salary range of USD $175,000–$205,000 plus significant equity, with no geo-based salary variation - Flexible paid time off, health, dental, and vision insurance, and room to grow inside a high-growth environment
