Full Stack Java/React Developer

Role overview Operate as a mid-level Full Stack Developer on small, collaborative consulting teams delivering web and mobile applications for public sector clients. You will move fluidly between React-driven user interfaces and Java-based services, shaping APIs, data models, and overall architecture while mentoring teammates and engaging directly with clients.

Responsibilities - Break down business requirements into technical features, tasks, and data models spanning UI, APIs, and persisted entities. - Build and maintain front-end experiences in React alongside server-side functionality in Java. - Design REST interfaces and GraphQL schemas that securely expose the right level of detail to each consumer. - Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and architectural discussions across the full stack. - Contribute to Agile ceremonies and coordinate work with designers, QA, project managers, and product owners.

Requirements - Strong proficiency with Java on the back end and React on the front end, including modern JavaScript patterns, libraries, and UI kits. - Solid understanding of full application lifecycle: requirements analysis, testable code, documentation, and long-term maintainability. - Experience designing REST APIs and GraphQL schemas, plus the ability to model entity relationships for performant lookups. - Background working in Agile team environments such as Scrum or Kanban, with a collaborative mindset. - Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to accessible, consistent, high-quality product.

Nice to have - Experience mentoring less experienced developers and uplifting team practices. - Exposure to public sector, enterprise, or similarly compliance-sensitive projects.
