Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Role overview A senior backend engineering role on a security-focused identity and access management platform, contributing to systems that protect how organizations expose internal applications to distributed teams. The position centers on strengthening security architecture, raising code quality, and shaping a codebase that operates at significant production scale.

Responsibilities - Translate ambiguous security and platform requirements into robust, well-tested backend services. - Champion code health through refactoring, reviews, design docs, and ongoing craftsmanship improvements. - Write maintainable Go or C++ services that interact with relational data stores and IAM protocols. - Collaborate with cross-functional partners to unblock work, with a bias toward async communication. - Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and process improvements that help a remote team scale.

Requirements - Three or more years of professional experience with Go (Golang) or C++. - Working knowledge of relational databases and production monitoring, alerting, and metrics. - Hands-on familiarity with at least one major cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. - Strong written communication and a track record of effective remote collaboration.

Nice to have - Experience delivering on a fully remote team. - Familiarity with OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, and related identity and access management standards. - Exposure to Envoy, gRPC, REST service design, Kubernetes, Helm, or other cloud-native tooling.
