Job details
About this role
Role overview A remote, customer-facing engineering position sits at the intersection of pre-sales, solution architecture, and senior site reliability work. The role partners closely with strategic enterprise customers, helping them evaluate, deploy, and operate secure access infrastructure in complex production environments. It blends hands-on technical problem solving with consultative guidance for large, sophisticated engineering organizations.
Responsibilities - Join sales calls as a trusted technical advisor, leading discovery sessions and building proof-of-concepts that map customer requirements to platform capabilities. - Design reference architectures and deployment guides, and contribute technical content such as blog posts and documentation for customers and the broader community. - Serve as a primary technical contact for strategic accounts, managing relationships and ensuring smooth long-term adoption. - Channel field insights back to the engineering organization by advocating feature requests and bug reports grounded in production realities. - Collaborate with internal SRE and platform engineering peers, contributing to infrastructure tooling and processes built on technologies like Terraform and Argo.
Requirements - Five or more years in a senior SRE, DevOps, or equivalent role, with hands-on experience running production systems and debugging unfamiliar environments. - Proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform, observability tooling, CI/CD platforms, and network debugging tools, across both cloud and on-prem settings. - Working knowledge of HTTP proxies, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, and related identity and access management protocols. - A security-focused mindset, with the ability to act as a subject matter expert on infrastructure security and explain trade-offs for impactful decisions. - Strong, empathetic communication skills and the social credibility to build trust with senior engineers at major technology companies. - Track record of thriving in a fast-paced, fully remote, distributed environment, with openness to occasional travel for customer visits and conferences.
Nice to have - Prior design and implementation of scalable systems to meet evolving business needs. - Experience coordinating varied stakeholders to keep large, cross-functional projects on track. - Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001, ideally in regulated industries like healthcare or financial services. - Deep, multi-cloud expertise spanning GCP, AWS, and Azure, including informed views on multi-cloud strategy.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote work, with a requirement to be primarily based in the United States. - Competitive compensation including salary and equity. - Comprehensive health benefits and generous paid time off. - Support for ongoing learning, training, and conference attendance. - Opportunity to shape product direction in a well-funded, stable startup environment focused on secure access and zero-trust networking.
