About this role
Role overview Product engineers on this team shape the billing and monetization layer for a new generation of usage-based software and AI products. The work spans real-time metering, pricing as code, programmable pricing models, and flexible customer identity primitives, with a focus on giving developers fine-grained control over how they monetize. You'll work across the entire stack from a small, remote-first team that prizes shipping velocity and high engineering standards.
Responsibilities - Drive product development end-to-end, identifying opportunities and owning both the technical implementation and the product outcome across the stack. - Build exceptional developer experiences by turning complex billing and monetization workflows into intuitive interfaces, well-designed APIs, and thoughtful abstractions. - Ship improvements continuously, balancing fast iterations with robust engineering, performance, and attention to detail. - Stay close to merchants through direct engagement, uncovering pain points and translating feedback into meaningful product improvements. - Navigate ambiguity with autonomy, deciding when to iterate quickly and when to invest in stronger foundations.
Requirements - Senior-level experience building, shipping, and evolving production software, with deep expertise in at least one part of the stack and confidence working across frontend and backend systems. - Strong product judgement and design sensibility, with the ability to simplify complexity, challenge assumptions, and prioritize developer experience as the product. - High ownership and pragmatic execution, including the ability to make decisions without perfect information and take responsibility for outcomes. - A commitment to engineering craft, from clean APIs and robust backend logic to thoughtful interactions, edge-case handling, and performance. - Curiosity and collaboration skills suited to a small remote team, including openness to AI-assisted development while staying close to the code.
Nice to have - Background in payments, billing, or developer tools. - Open-source contributions and side projects that demonstrate technical taste and craft.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first, small team with a strong bias toward shipping and high engineering quality.
