Role overview
A senior technical leadership role serving as the principal architect for a federal client program, combining technical product management, system design, and engineering leadership. The work centers on guiding mission-aligned digital solutions, modernizing delivery practices, and helping senior client stakeholders make sound architectural and technology decisions.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic technology guidance to clients by deeply understanding mission objectives and translating them into solution designs - Architect and guide end-to-end solutions that integrate web applications and data analytics components - Shape cloud-native architectures using Kubernetes, EKS, Aurora, and other AWS services - Advise senior client technical and business stakeholders, ensuring compliance with architectural standards and best practices - Identify key risks and assumptions, and lead research and proof-of-concept experimentation - Mentor development teams and champion modern delivery, Agile, and DevSecOps practices across the program
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience - Ten or more years of technical leadership or solutions architecture experience on large, multi-team products - Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures, serverless and event-based systems, open-source stacks, containers, and pipeline automation - Deep familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps principles and practices - Working knowledge of object-oriented and functional programming, design patterns, modern API design, and SQL and NoSQL data modeling - Experience defining and enforcing application and cloud data security across the full lifecycle

- Familiarity with human-centered design and product management methods - Experience managing fully remote and distributed teams - Business development experience and relevant management certifications - Familiarity with the U.S. Digital Services Playbook
Benefits and work setup
- Base salary of $180,000 to $190,000 depending on experience - Annual bonus opportunity, medical, dental, and vision benefits, PTO, company-paid life insurance, and a 401(k) match program
