Role overview
Join a defense and intelligence team as a senior full-stack engineer building the next generation of a global monitoring application. The work centers on integrating with federal partners and turning large-scale geospatial datasets into accessible, real-time insights. The position is full-time and remote within the United States, with an expectation of working from a nearby office three days per week when applicable.
Responsibilities
- Drive the engineering lifecycle from early concept through implementation and ongoing maintenance - Own quality and availability for mission-critical systems used by external partners - Improve architecture, infrastructure, and development processes across the stack - Design and build scalable backend services and modern frontend applications - Partner with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into seamless features - Champion scalable patterns that support rapid user access to geospatial data
Requirements
- Six to eight years of industry experience in software engineering - Fluency in Golang, Python, and PostgreSQL or comparable technologies - Full-stack application development experience spanning databases, services, and the web - Hands-on experience building frontend applications with React - Experience maintaining infrastructure defined as code - Familiarity with logging, alerting, and monitoring tooling for production systems
Nice to have
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to evolving customer needs - Experience with AWS or GCP and infrastructure-as-code practices - Background building systems that depend on many external integrations - Experience working with geospatial technologies and data formats
