About this role
Role overview This staff engineering role leads the App Promotion engineering team, owning delivery of an app install optimization product from beta through general availability. The position partners closely with Ads Quality, machine learning, and Measurement teams to build scalable models, robust experimentation, and trustworthy reporting, while laying the groundwork for future app event optimization and retargeting capabilities. It manages a team of roughly 5-6 full stack and mobile engineers and works across Ads, Measurement, and Product organizations.
Responsibilities - Lead the engineering team responsible for the App Promotion objective and App Install Optimization, owning delivery from beta through GA. - Partner with Product, Design, and Product Marketing to define and refine the advertiser experience for App Promotion in Ads Manager, covering campaign creation, targeting, optimization, and reporting. - Work with Ads Quality, ML, and infrastructure teams to ensure robust serving, modeling, and experimentation for app promotion campaigns. - Collaborate with Measurement, Reporting, and Partner teams to close SKAN and MMP attribution gaps and ensure accurate, trusted reporting. - Establish and maintain strong engineering practices, including design reviews, experimentation standards, on-call, monitoring, and incident response. - Hire, coach, and develop a diverse team of engineers while fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture.
Requirements - Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - Several years of engineering management experience leading full stack and/or mobile teams shipping production systems. - Experience in performance, growth, or ads engineering, preferably with app install, app engagement, or other lower-funnel objectives. - Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects involving Product, Data, Design, and other engineering teams. - Strong technical judgment with the ability to dive deep into architecture, data quality, and measurement details. - Strong communication skills and the ability to explain strategy, tradeoffs, and technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Commitment to building inclusive teams and promoting a sense of belonging.
Benefits and work setup - Hybrid role requiring in-person collaboration approximately once per week from San Francisco, Palo Alto, or Seattle; not eligible for relocation assistance. - U.S.-based applicants only. - Base salary range of $189,308-$389,753 USD, with the position also eligible for equity.
