Job details
About this role
Role overview This Staff Product Manager role owns the end-to-end flywheel that turns raw content and catalog data into the supply surfaced in shopping and search experiences, across four connected pillars: acquisition, processing and enrichment, indexing, and retrieval and serving. It is a technical platform role, not a consumer-feature role, requiring direct experience with content pipelines, indexing infrastructure, and low-latency retrieval systems at scale. The position partners across engineering, data science, and product leaders to set multi-year direction and is remote with no relocation support; the listing is for US-based applicants only.
Responsibilities - Set and drive a multi-year strategy across acquisition, processing, indexing, and retrieval and serving for the content-to-discovery flywheel. - Own the roadmap for content acquisition, scraping, and catalog onboarding, ensuring the right supply enters the system by category and domain. - Drive extraction, metadata enrichment, and the freshness lifecycle so content and catalog data stay current and trustworthy. - Own indexing for shopping and search, and own retrieval and serving with a focus on latency, performance signals, and inventory. - Define how the organization measures freshness and reliability, and use those measurements to prioritize investment and show impact. - Act as spokesperson for the platform across content, shopping, search, and infrastructure teams, and mentor peer PMs without direct people management.
Requirements - 10+ years in product management or technical leadership, with a record of building content, catalog, or commerce-supply platforms at scale. - Direct experience owning content acquisition, data enrichment and freshness pipelines, search or shopping indexing, or low-latency retrieval systems. - Track record of improving data quality, freshness, or relevance metrics across a large, multi-stage pipeline. - Strong technical judgment, able to go deep with engineers on tradeoffs in ingestion, indexing, and serving architecture. - Demonstrated success leading large, cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple teams and systems, with a strategic and analytical mindset. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degrees a plus.
Benefits and work setup - Remote position, US applicants only; position is not eligible for relocation assistance. - Base salary range of $164,695 to $339,078 USD, plus eligibility for equity; final salary reflects location, experience, and skills.
