Role overview A federal contractor is hiring a Senior Salesforce Developer to support a Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Solutions Delivery Center of Excellence program. The role focuses on building, configuring, and integrating SaaS and PaaS platforms—primarily Salesforce, with adjacent exposure to ServiceNow, Pega, and Microsoft Power Platform—to deliver human-centered solutions. The position blends hands-on development with technical leadership across an Agile delivery lifecycle.
Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain applications and solutions within the Salesforce platform, including Apex, Lightning Components, Visualforce, and front-end web technologies - Translate business requirements into Salesforce designs, mapping needs to platform capabilities - Build and test Muleon applications for internal and external integrations, and architect data solutions connecting Salesforce to back-office systems - Lead and contribute across the full development lifecycle: design, testing, release, and operations and maintenance - Review code and solutions from other team members, participate in the Salesforce Center of Excellence, and troubleshoot user-reported issues - Create user-facing, customer-facing, and internal documentation in line with Salesforce development standards
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or a related technical discipline, plus 8+ years of relevant experience (or 8 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of the degree) - Proficiency with Salesforce.com, Sales Cloud, and/or Service Cloud design and implementation - Demonstrated experience with Muleon and Salesforce platform languages such as Apex and JavaScript - Hands-on experience developing APIs (REST, SOAP, Bulk, Streaming) and web applications using JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5 - Track record of iterative, Agile delivery as part of a Scrum team - Salesforce certifications and Trailhead badges, plus Agentforce experience
Nice to have - Prior technical lead experience - Three years of web application development with JavaScript, CSS, or HTML5 - Familiarity with prototyping tools such as InVision - Platform App Builder, Platform Dev I, or Lightning Component Framework certifications - Exposure to Pega, Microsoft Power Platform, or ServiceNow - Background on federal Salesforce programs or with Human-Centered Design teams - Proficiency with MySQL, Apex, and Visualforce, and working knowledge of MavensMate or Eclipse
