Data Scientist II

Role overview

This mid-level data science position supports cradle-to-grave activities for U.S. Navy electromagnetic warfare, decoy, and surface electronic warfare improvement systems. The role blends analytics with logistics, reliability engineering, and operations research to model complex systems, improve operational availability, and inform lifecycle decisions. Work contributes directly to warfighter readiness, system reliability, and cost-informed mission performance, and requires an active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

- Design and apply analytical methods that convert raw operational and program data into actionable insight for engineering and decision-makers. - Apply data mining, statistical modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to large structured and unstructured datasets. - Build data models and algorithms that surface trends, anomalies, risks, and key performance indicators across system lifecycle data. - Produce dashboards, visualizations, and dynamic reports tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Integrate logistics, maintenance, reliability, and operational data streams to support sustainment and lifecycle analysis. - Partner with logisticians, engineers, operations research analysts, and program staff to translate mission needs into analytical solutions. - Document repeatable workflows and prepare briefings that drive timely, evidence-based decisions and continuous improvement.

Requirements

- Active Secret security clearance. - Bachelor's degree. - At least three years of relevant professional experience. - Proficiency with data-oriented programming languages and analytical tooling for collecting, integrating, and analyzing complex datasets. - Demonstrated ability to communicate findings through visualizations, reports, and presentations.
