Senior Security Enablement Engineer

Role overview Strengthen security across a large software engineering organisation by building tools, practices and knowledge that help teams make safer decisions as part of everyday development. This hands-on enablement role partners with product, platform and engineering teams to reduce risk, improve security workflows and shift effort toward lasting, proactive improvements.

Responsibilities - Identify security gaps and deliver engineering improvements that reduce risk or remove friction for developers. - Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments and code review workflows, establishing reusable secure-by-default patterns. - Work with engineering leads to prioritise tooling and process changes against the organisation’s actual risk profile. - Coach teams through threat modelling, documentation and hands-on pairing so they can handle security decisions with confidence. - Join product teams during design, architecture reviews and pre-launch work to provide practical security guidance. - Build scalable security practices and share knowledge across teams rather than relying on one-off interventions.

Requirements - Deep, practical security engineering expertise and the ability to own improvements from discovery through delivery. - Experience building or integrating developer security tools and embedding security into software delivery workflows. - Strong communication skills across written, verbal and asynchronous settings. - Ability to build trust and influence engineering teams through collaboration and sound judgement. - Proactive stakeholder communication and comfort owning outcomes in a distributed environment.

Nice to have - Experience in payments or regulated software environments, or familiarity with PCI DSS, GDPR or HIPAA. - Knowledge of platform or enabling-team models, offensive security, penetration testing, red teaming or bug bounty. - Experience creating security champion or enablement programmes.
