Staff Engineer, Full Stack (Trust, Safety & Risk)

Role overview A full stack engineering role on a trust, safety, and risk team at a consumer crypto wallet company serving tens of millions of users across multiple blockchains. The position is responsible for building the safeguards, decisioning systems, and operational tooling that protect users, the platform, and the products powering money movement and on-chain activity. It is a senior, high-ownership role that works across the stack and partners closely with product, compliance, support, and security teams.

Responsibilities - Design real-time risk controls and decisioning systems for ACH, debit cards, onramps, off-ramps, and other money movement flows. - Build signals, models, and product interventions that detect scams, malicious wallets, suspicious transactions, and abusive behavior. - Develop scalable identity and compliance infrastructure including KYC, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, case management, and audit systems. - Create data pipelines and intelligence tools that combine on-chain activity, product telemetry, and third-party signals into actionable risk insights. - Partner with product and engineering to embed safeguards into new features from the start while preserving user experience. - Ship internal tooling that helps risk, compliance, support, and security teams investigate incidents and act quickly.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 8+ years of professional software engineering experience. - Track record designing and operating reliable, data-intensive production systems. - Strong product judgment with the ability to balance user experience, financial risk, and operational complexity. - Comfort working across frontend, backend, APIs, data pipelines, and third-party integrations. - Demonstrated interest in protecting users and building trustworthy financial products, plus English language proficiency.

Nice to have - Hands-on experience with fraud, risk, identity, KYC, AML, sanctions, payments, fintech, or blockchain systems.
