About this role
Role overview A senior data scientist is needed on the Analytics team to partner with Product, Engineering, and Design and other business units to illuminate how users engage with the product and how the two-sided marketplace is performing. The role reports to the Head of Analytics and is well suited to someone who enjoys turning ambiguous questions into clear problem statements and influencing product strategy through evidence. The work blends stakeholder alignment, experimentation, and behavioral analysis across a dynamic marketplace.
Responsibilities - Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Design to set goals, interpret user engagement, and translate experiment results into product direction - Develop measurement frameworks and introduce new metrics or reporting systems that track marketplace and user health - Align cross-functional stakeholders on analytical priorities and the roadmap for critical areas of the business - Design, run, and analyze A/B experiments and translate findings into actionable recommendations - Dive deep into user behavior and the underlying dynamics of the two-sided marketplace - Diagnose drivers of business performance, unpack trends, and explain what is moving the numbers - Collaborate with Analytics, Data Engineering, and the broader data community to grow a healthy data culture
Requirements - 5+ years of experience in data science, product analytics, or a comparable function - Strong SQL skills and confidence working with large datasets - Experience building visualizations with Tableau, Looker, or similar BI platforms - Proficiency in at least one data-oriented language such as Python, R, or Julia - Applied experience with statistics and experiment design in a business context - Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field (Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar) - Demonstrated ability to communicate insights to business partners and manage competing stakeholder priorities
Nice to have - Prior experience at another two-sided marketplace - Hands-on experience applying causal inference, predictive modeling, or other advanced statistical methods in a business setting
