Explosives AI Safety Evaluators & SMEs

Role overview Evaluate AI-generated content related to explosives and energetic materials for technical accuracy, safety risks, and responsible handling. The contract offers two levels of contribution: first-pass annotation for qualified technical professionals and senior review for experts who can audit evaluations and resolve complex cases.

Responsibilities - Review prompts and model responses involving explosives or energetic materials. - Classify content as benign, dual-use, or malicious according to project guidance. - Assess and rank responses for safety, recording a clear rationale for each judgment. - Identify legitimate technical content and potentially harmful elements in dual-use scenarios. - For senior reviewers, audit first-pass annotations and handle complex or flagged cases. - Validate classifications, rankings, rationales, and reference responses against appropriate technical and safety standards.

Requirements - Relevant technical education or professional expertise in fields such as chemistry, chemical or mechanical engineering, materials science, physics, or explosives engineering. - For first-pass work, a relevant bachelor's or master's degree, or applicable experience in energetic materials, hazardous materials, laboratory research, engineering, blast and impact analysis, or safety. - For senior review, a PhD or equivalent advanced professional or industry expertise in a relevant field. - Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to provide well-supported evaluations.

Nice to have Experience in AI evaluation or safety, scientific research, technical review, quality assurance, explosives or energetics research, industrial safety, or regulatory work.

Benefits and work setup Remote contract work is available to eligible candidates in the US, Canada, UK, Europe, and Australia. Work is project-based and may be paid hourly or per task; the rate is set for each client project and is not specified in advance.
