Manager, Forward Deployed Engineering

Role overview Lead a team of forward deployed engineers delivering complex AI deployments for enterprise customers. The role combines people management and delivery ownership with hands-on technical guidance, helping teams adapt systems to customer environments while making delivery practices more reliable and repeatable.

Responsibilities - Hire, coach, and develop engineers through clear expectations, regular feedback, and performance support. - Plan staffing across concurrent customer engagements, balancing workload and spotting capacity risks early. - Own delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, escalations, and stakeholder alignment across deployments. - Guide architecture and implementation decisions, review designs or code, and help resolve urgent production issues. - Create reusable engineering practices and playbooks that improve delivery speed, reliability, and maintainability. - Turn recurring customer needs into product proposals in partnership with product and core engineering teams.

Requirements - At least 8 years of experience in software engineering, systems integration, DevOps, or data engineering with production responsibility. - Experience leading engineers, including coaching, hiring, or supporting performance and career growth. - A track record of delivering complex technical projects in enterprise settings with multiple stakeholders. - Strong working knowledge of backend systems, APIs, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and databases. - Ability to lead smaller technical workstreams hands-on, including debugging or implementation when needed. - Clear communication with customer engineering teams and senior technical stakeholders, paired with sound planning and risk management.

Nice to have - Experience building or integrating AI and LLM systems, such as agent workflows, orchestration, evaluation, vector databases, or guardrails. - Background in forward deployed or solutions engineering.
