Role overview
Manage and prepare complex healthcare data so analytics teams and business stakeholders can use it to make informed decisions. This role bridges technical data operations and business needs, working across claims and other healthcare datasets to support analyses, integrations, dependable reporting, and data quality.
Responsibilities - Work with large, complex healthcare datasets, including medical and pharmacy claims, and build, maintain, optimize, and validate SQL queries and analytical datasets. - Keep data assets accurate, documented, and usable; develop metadata and follow data governance and quality processes. - Support data integration work and partner with stakeholders to clarify business questions and requirements. - Coordinate with data engineering on suitable data structures and models. - Work with internal teams and external data suppliers to maintain timely, accurate incoming data. - Collaborate on end-to-end analyses and ensure data sources needed for team projects are created, maintained, and documented.
Requirements - At least 5 years in healthcare data management or stewardship, including 3 or more years working directly with administrative data such as medical and pharmacy claims or enrollment records. - Strong SQL skills, including writing and validating complex queries. - Solid understanding of database models, ETL tools, and common quality issues in healthcare data. - Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or data-related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Curiosity, analytical rigor, and the ability to own work from initial idea through delivery. - Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to translate business requirements into data needs and share findings with varied audiences.
Nice to have
Experience with Salesforce data, vendor-reported healthcare utilization or savings data, stop-loss insurance data, AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, SageMaker, or EMR, or Python for analysis and data wrangling.
