About this role
Role overview

- Manage multiple teams with real ownership of career growth and technical development, coaching tech leads and senior engineers to operate independently.
- Own goals and roadmap execution, removing blockers, tightening feedback loops, and protecting focus across planning, iteration planning, PR review, and work-in-progress discipline.
- Champion AI-native engineering practices, including agentic coding, repo-native tooling, MCP servers, and AI-assisted review and testing.
- Serve as the engineering counterpart to product managers and designers, shaping scope, weighing technical cost against user value, and aligning discovery with delivery.
- Provide strategic technical oversight through Architecture Decision Reviews, pre-launch risk assessments, feasibility analysis, and incident retrospectives, while staying close to the code via regular PR reviews.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of management experience, including managing more than one team or managing through tech leads.
- Minimum 10 years of experience delivering software in a production environment.
- Demonstrated track record of growing engineers to the next level and addressing underperformance directly.

- Hands-on familiarity with modern AI development tooling and experience driving team adoption.
- Must reside in the United States.
Nice to have
- Experience in healthcare, clinical workflows, or another regulated domain.
- Experience leading teams through a manager transition or period of structural change.
- Experience operating in a large shared codebase with clear domain ownership boundaries.

- Base salary band of $260,000-$310,000, depending on experience and level.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage with low-to-no-cost premium options, plus employer HSA contributions.
- 401(k) retirement plan, equity incentive plan, and annual company-wide bonus opportunity of up to 15%.
- Remote-first culture with a dedicated office and co-working reimbursement options.
- Flexible vacation policy, additional summer Fridays, home office and wellness stipend, monthly internet stipend, and an annual learning and development stipend.
