Role overview Own the roadmap for shared business integrations and automation that connect finance, supply chain, customer, and other enterprise systems. This staff-level platform role turns scattered requests into a coordinated plan, makes informed technical product decisions, and helps the organization scale its data and AI capabilities. The position is remote within the US.
Responsibilities - Gather and prioritize integration and automation needs across business functions, maintaining a clear, sequenced roadmap and consistent intake process. - Set direction for API contracts, versioning, and integration patterns, weighing managed integration tools against custom development and real-time against batch approaches. - Work with architecture and engineering partners on system design and on how integrations support analytics platforms and data products. - Explain technical trade-offs and investment choices to executives and cross-functional stakeholders. - Assess requirements for AI agents and related integration capabilities, coordinating with AI productivity partners. - Help establish an integration engineering team and shift delivery toward a permanent in-house group.
Requirements - At least 10 years of technical product or platform management, including substantial ownership of infrastructure, integration, or API platforms. - Ability to review and shape technical specifications, API contracts, event schemas, and platform design decisions. - Working knowledge of AWS integration services such as API Gateway, Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions, and SQS/SNS. - Experience with an integration platform such as Workato, MuleSoft, or Boomi, plus API design and version management. - Skill in translating technical platform choices into clear business outcomes and priorities. - Regular use of AI assistants or agentic development tools for research, analysis, drafting, or prototyping, with care to verify results.
Nice to have - Experience with AI control planes, MCP gateways, or agent monitoring and policy systems. - ERP integration or decoupling experience, including with NetSuite or a similar system. - Familiarity with lakehouse or data mesh architecture and the effects of upstream integration choices on analytics. - Experience moving a contractor-led function to an in-house platform team.
