Role overview
Build and evolve a community-focused B2B SaaS application using Ruby, Rails, and JavaScript. This is a senior individual-contributor opportunity for someone who can take substantial product areas from idea through production while maintaining a dependable, well-tested codebase and contributing beyond implementation to product decisions and user experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, implement, and ship complex full-stack features from early concept to production. - Work across the Ruby and Rails backend and JavaScript front end, with room to develop deeper specialization. - Help maintain code quality through testing, thoughtful architecture, and pragmatic technical choices. - Participate in product discussions, including user conversations, screen and flow design, feature proposals, and analysis of product usage. - Evaluate and select technologies or approaches when new product areas require them. - Contribute to the wider engineering and community culture through content, talks, open-source participation, or similar activities.
Requirements
- At least three years of experience building full-stack applications. - Senior, staff, or comparable experience as an individual-contributor engineer. - Professional experience with Ruby on Rails and confidence working across the stack. - Ability to explain technical decisions, work independently, and deliver complex features with appropriate support. - Strong written communication and a collaborative, respectful working style. - Interest in product development, community-oriented software, and open-source practices.
