Remote job
Senior Full-Stack Developer
Job details
About this role
Role overview
A distributed, fully-remote engineering team that has spent more than a decade building an open-source cloud and edge computing platform is hiring a senior full-stack developer. The role centers on developing and maintaining the platform's web-based management interface, with a clear emphasis on front-end work while still contributing across the stack. The position suits a self-directed engineer who is comfortable in Linux-based environments and open to gradually expanding into adjacent technical areas such as virtualization, command-line tooling, or back-end services as priorities evolve.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship features for the platform's web interface, with primary focus on front-end development and contributing to back-end components as needed. - Take ownership of features end-to-end, from requirements through implementation, testing, documentation, and delivery. - Write well-tested, maintainable code that prioritizes long-term software quality and strong test coverage. - Diagnose and resolve issues spanning front-end and back-end code in Linux environments. - Produce clear technical documentation and articulate design decisions to teammates. - Suggest improvements to the product, codebase, and development workflows, and collaborate across disciplines as priorities shift.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering. - Three or more years of professional software development experience in production environments, with real-world work beyond purely front-end development. - Hands-on experience building web applications across both front-end and back-end components. - Practical experience developing and maintaining user-facing web applications. - Comfort working in Linux-based development environments. - Ability to work autonomously, communicate technical decisions clearly, and turn loose requirements into production-ready software.
Nice to have
- Exposure to virtualization, networking, or cloud infrastructure concepts. - Familiarity with command-line tooling, Ruby, or related back-end technologies. - Curiosity and adaptability to broaden expertise over time into new areas of the stack.
Benefits and work setup
- Competitive compensation with flexible remuneration options covering meals, transport, and childcare. - Choice of workstation hardware across macOS, Windows, or any Linux distribution. - Private health insurance coverage. - Reduced hours on Fridays and throughout August. - Paid time off for holidays, personal time, sick leave, and parental leave. - Fully remote organization with headquarters in Madrid and additional offices in Boston and Brno. - Emphasis on digital disconnection and a healthy work-life balance. - Flexible hiring arrangements: full-time or part-time, with employment or contractor options depending on location. - Engineering-first culture that encourages learning new technologies and methods as part of everyday work.
