Role overview Build the backend infrastructure powering a co-branded credit card inside a consumer fintech platform that combines banking, savings, credit, lending, investing, and crypto. The role focuses on designing APIs and event-driven services that handle sensitive financial data at scale while meeting the trust, security, and reliability standards of a regulated financial product.
Responsibilities - Design and build backend services for a co-branded credit card product and its integrations with partner systems. - Architect APIs and event-driven systems that process sensitive financial data securely at scale. - Partner with risk, compliance, and platform teams to ensure new features meet regulatory and security requirements. - Own reliability and performance for systems processing real-time credit transactions. - Drive technical decisions on system design, balancing scalability, security, and delivery speed. - Mentor other engineers and raise the bar on code quality, testing, and operational practices.
Requirements - 3+ years of professional experience in backend or distributed systems development. - Hands-on experience building and operating production-grade APIs and microservices in a regulated or high-compliance environment such as fintech, payments, or banking. - Proficiency in Node.js or a comparable modern backend framework (for example TypeScript, NestJS, Go, or Java). - Familiarity with cloud-native architecture on AWS, including Kubernetes, and with event-driven or microservice-based systems. - Strong understanding of data security and standards such as PCI compliance that protect sensitive financial data. - Strong communication and collaboration skills across product, risk, and platform teams.
