Senior Maintenance Program Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview
Own the development and ongoing improvement of maintenance standards across a fleet of nuclear facilities. You will translate maintenance strategies into traceable, executable work and coordinate across facility operations, engineering, maintenance, supply chain, training, quality, and digital systems. The role uses asset performance and operating experience to strengthen reliability while allowing justified site-specific adjustments.
Responsibilities - Establish and implement a fleet framework for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. - Develop equipment strategies and technical bases using equipment function and criticality, failure modes, vendor guidance, engineering information, and operating experience. - Turn approved strategies into tasks, schedules, acceptance criteria, job plans, procedures, and supporting records. - Set standards for asset hierarchies, naming, classifications, maintenance master data, and governance in computerized maintenance or enterprise asset systems. - Define consistent work-management practices covering work screening, planning, scheduling, execution, post-maintenance testing, closeout, equipment history, and backlog control. - Lead implementation at facilities, monitor maintenance and reliability indicators, and use failures, corrective actions, and operating experience to drive improvements. - Coordinate equipment bills of material, critical spares, vendor support, component availability, and obsolescence planning with engineering, site teams, and supply chain.
Requirements - At least 10 years of experience in the nuclear industry. - Demonstrated maintenance scheduling experience and experience in a maintenance leadership role. - Strong understanding of nuclear plant operations and how operations, maintenance, engineering, quality, training, and supply chain work together. - Experience developing, implementing, governing, or improving preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs. - Ability to build defensible maintenance strategies and translate them into practical work requirements. - Experience with computerized maintenance or enterprise asset systems, asset hierarchies, equipment history, and maintenance master data. - Strong technical writing, analytical, organizational, and cross-functional communication skills.
Nice to have
Experience standardizing maintenance across multiple nuclear facilities; equipment reliability, criticality, failure-mode, corrective-action, or operating-experience programs; maintenance performance measures such as schedule compliance, backlog, completion, rework, and repeat work; and critical-spares or obsolescence strategies.
