Data Scientist

Role overview

This role focuses on building machine learning models and analytical methods that solve real operational problems in manufacturing environments. You will work end-to-end, from scoping data analysis needs with customers through developing, validating, and deploying production-grade solutions that feed directly into a manufacturing intelligence platform. The position also emphasizes an AI-first approach, including working with agentic AI frameworks that enable natural-language interaction with factory data.

Responsibilities

- Partner directly with customer stakeholders to scope data analysis and modeling needs tied to real manufacturing problems. - Develop and validate predictive models, algorithms, and analytical methods addressing areas such as quality prediction, failure forecasting, and time-series pattern discovery. - Test and refine solutions in live customer deployments to confirm they deliver measurable value. - Collaborate with engineering to translate one-off analyses into shipped product features and reusable platform capabilities. - Work with product teams to surface customer problems and shape them into roadmap requirements. - Contribute to the broader technical community by sharing results, tracking advances in the field, and helping advance applied AI techniques for manufacturing.

Requirements

- One to three years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Economics, or a closely related field. - Strong Python skills, including common machine learning and statistics libraries. - Strong SQL skills for working with structured and semi-structured data sources. - Familiarity with process improvement and exploratory techniques such as design of experiments and optimization. - Hands-on experience using generative AI models for code development, experimentation, or generating insights. - Comfort directing frontier AI models and AI agents as tools to steer rather than as systems to wait on.
