Product Engineer

Role overview

Build the product that helps staffing agencies conduct early-stage candidate interviews through live AI calls and receive structured reports and recordings. As a product engineer on a small team, you will work across the data model, backend APIs, and recruiter-facing interface, taking features from loosely defined problems to dependable workflows used by customers.

Responsibilities

- Develop complete features across database schema, access rules, Node-based APIs, and React interfaces. - Translate rough problem statements into clear, usable product experiences for recruiting teams. - Write and maintain automated tests that provide the confidence to release changes safely. - Preserve strict tenant isolation so each agency’s data remains separated at the database level. - Evaluate recruiter-facing screens for speed, clarity, and workflow quality—not only technical correctness. - Document decisions and implementation details so a distributed team can collaborate effectively.

Requirements

- Three or more years of experience building and owning production web applications. - Strong TypeScript skills with practical experience in both Node API development and React applications. - Working knowledge of relational databases, including the ability to understand query plans and make informed indexing decisions. - A disciplined approach to testing and a willingness to treat the test suite as a release-quality gate. - Clear written communication and experience working independently when requirements are not fully specified.

Nice to have

- Experience with NestJS, Next.js, Drizzle, or PostgreSQL row-level security. - Previous work on a small team where engineers helped discover requirements and shape the product, rather than receiving fully defined tickets.
