About this role
Role overview
Build and lead a healthcare data science function focused on improving patient outcomes through analytics, machine learning, and operational execution. The role combines strategy and hands-on delivery: you will establish analytical data models, develop and productionize predictive systems, measure clinical-program impact, and partner closely with clinical, operational, executive, and technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the machine learning strategy, priorities, operating practices, and delivery roadmap. - Lead collaboration among technology, clinical, and operations teams to design and evaluate effective patient-care interventions. - Create analytics data marts and transformation models using dbt, ensuring the data foundation supports repeatable analysis and modeling. - Identify and integrate additional sources of claims, eligibility, pharmacy, electronic medical-record, health-information-exchange, and operational data. - Develop predictive models to identify and risk-stratify patients who may benefit from intervention. - Use AI and large language models to improve patient and provider engagement where appropriate. - Analyze clinical data, workflow behavior, and program performance, measuring whether interventions achieve their intended results. - Build the analytics layer that powers executive and operational dashboards and supports informed decision-making.
Requirements
- At least eight years of healthcare analytics experience with hands-on work using real-world healthcare data. - At least three years leading healthcare data science teams or equivalent technical teams. - Advanced SQL skills for complex analysis, data modeling, and reporting. - Advanced Python skills for developing, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models. - Experience producing useful BI reports and dashboards for non-technical end users. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clinical, operational, technical, and executive audiences. - Ability to learn quickly, prioritize multiple initiatives, and operate effectively amid startup ambiguity and rapid change.
Nice to have
- Experience in a health plan, managed-services organization, Medicare Advantage, or value-based-care setting. - Familiarity with the needs and characteristics of Medicare populations. - Experience with AWS, dbt, and Snowflake or comparable healthcare data-platform technologies.
Benefits and work setup
- Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k), generous time off, and an ongoing professional-development program.
