Technical Product Manager - Digital Banking
Job details
About this role
Role overview
Design and build digital banking capabilities as the hands-on product builder in a small, autonomous squad. The work spans problem discovery, product behavior, specifications, prototyping, and implementation, using AI-assisted and spec-driven development to turn banking needs into working software. You will partner closely with an architect on technical integrity and with a delivery-focused teammate on validation and release.
Responsibilities
- Investigate customer, market, and business needs, then shape them into product outcomes and buildable solutions. - Design end-to-end user experiences and system behavior, including edge cases and alternative approaches. - Write clear, testable specifications and collaborate on APIs, data models, and integration patterns. - Use AI development tools to prototype, implement, and refine working software across the product domain. - Explore unclear requirements through research and rapid builds, using what you learn to improve the solution. - Work with squad partners on acceptance criteria, testing, deployment, and production readiness.
Requirements
- At least five years in product or engineering roles in fintech, banking, or financial services. - Experience with business or commercial digital banking products used by small businesses. - Understanding of regulated environments and financial workflows. - Ability to turn feedback from financial institutions, their customers, and market research into measurable product improvements. - Hands-on development skills in front-end and/or back-end technologies, with a record of shipping working software. - Ability to work across the stack, connect business goals to technical constraints, and take ownership amid ambiguity. - Self-direction, clear communication, and comfort collaborating in a remote team.
Nice to have
Experience with REST APIs, data modeling, or system interactions is useful. The source also identifies Node.js, Prisma, Redis, Kafka or SQS, and AWS deployment as helpful technologies.
