Job details
About this role
Role overview Lead the data warehouse and reporting transformation for a key client as a Business Intelligence Architect, guiding the migration from a legacy Microsoft SQL Server stack to a modern platform built on Snowflake and Sigma. This hands-on, client-facing role requires maintaining the existing environment while designing target-state data models, ETL pipelines, and reports on the new platform. Experience in financial institutions and strong data modeling expertise are essential.
Responsibilities - Design, implement, and maintain data models using modeling tools such as Sparx, Erwin, Oxygen, or Altova. - Develop and document ETL data flows using SSIS, PowerShell, and T-SQL while supporting the existing SQL Server environment. - Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and agents in SSRS to support accurate decision-making. - Serve as the lead technical architect for migrating the data warehouse and reporting environment to Snowflake and Sigma. - Re-engineer SSIS-based ETL flows into Snowflake-native pipelines and rebuild SSRS reports as equivalent Sigma workbooks, validating parity with legacy outputs. - Document source-to-target mappings for both data integration and reporting, and coordinate the sequencing of work to minimize disruption.
Requirements - 5–8 years of relevant experience, including 3–5 years in a traditional bank or credit union. - Strong attention to detail, data quality, and accuracy of output. - Proficiency in statistics, finance, and retail or commercial banking business concepts. - Excellent written and oral communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences. - Strong time management and the ability to balance legacy support alongside migration work. - Proficiency with the Microsoft development and Office Suite, including database and application design and programming in VB or C#.
Nice to have - Hands-on experience with Snowflake and Sigma or comparable modern data and BI platforms such as Tableau or Power BI. - Familiarity with Visual Studio development across web, services, and API projects.
Benefits and work setup - Base salary range of $135,000–$150,000 annually plus annual cash bonus and equity eligibility where applicable. - Fully remote work environment. - Health, dental, and vision insurance including HSA, FSA, and DCA options. - 401(k) plan, flexible time off, company holidays, and an additional paid volunteer day. - Supplemental insurance, employee assistance programs, wellness programs, and growth and development programs.
