AI Engineer

Role overview Build and take technical ownership of AI features for a digital service connecting people with personalised nutrition support. You’ll work with Product, Engineering and nutrition professionals to turn practical needs into solutions, from early discovery through delivery. The focus is on applying generative AI to real workflows and making sure the resulting features meet quality and business needs.

Responsibilities - Develop and own AI-powered features that extend the platform. - Apply large language models and retrieval-augmented generation to product challenges. - Monitor, troubleshoot and refine deployed AI solutions as user needs and performance are assessed. - Define evaluation approaches and quality measures, including groundedness, safety, response time and cost. - Work with product and engineering colleagues and nutrition professionals to shape requirements into robust technical solutions.

Requirements - Experience applying AI, including modern language-model technologies, to practical product problems. - Ability to take technical ownership of AI features from discovery through delivery. - Sound judgement in balancing quality and performance measures with business requirements. - Able to collaborate across technical and nutrition-related disciplines. - Fluency in Portuguese and English; the description specifies a location in northern Portugal, around Braga or Porto.

Benefits and work setup The stated gross annual salary range is €25,200–€39,200, depending on experience.
