Remote job
Senior Product Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview A senior, product-driven backend role inside the Connect domain of a travel infrastructure platform that unifies hotel supply from hundreds of suppliers behind a single API. The position owns the full lifecycle—from idea through design, implementation, and real production traffic—without detailed specs, and is accountable for whether what ships creates measurable value. Work is backend-heavy and centers on hard problems like multi-supplier pricing, caching, routing, and data harmonization under tight latency budgets.
Responsibilities - Build new capabilities and scale the systems that partners rely on daily, taking ownership from idea to production without detailed specifications. - Design and implement caching, multi-supplier pricing, and routing strategies that respect strict latency budgets, supplier QPS limits, and system stability. - Harmonize fragmented, inconsistent supplier data, including room mapping, and explore LLM-assisted approaches to data normalization. - Move ideas through the full lifecycle quickly, shipping many iterations in days rather than months with minimal red tape. - Help shape engineering and product standards as the platform grows toward a much larger booking-volume target. - Collaborate across the team to set success criteria and decide the best path to get there, including when to say no.
Requirements - Senior, hands-on backend engineer, ideally with strong experience in Go, or a willingness to pick it up from a C#, Java, C++, or similar background. - Track record of building products or major features from scratch. - Thinks in terms of outcomes and user value rather than just implementation details. - Comfortable working without clear specs or established structure. - Can make pragmatic tradeoffs and move fast under ambiguity. - Experience with APIs, data-heavy systems, or distributed environments. - Takes ownership beyond their scope and pushes things forward.
Nice to have - Background in travel, marketplaces, payments, or other high-scale consumer platforms. - Familiarity with LLM-assisted approaches to data harmonization.
Benefits and work setup - Remote within the EU, or hybrid in Barcelona, Palma, Dublin, or Casablanca. - Lean, fast-moving, low-process team culture with high ownership and responsibility. - Profitable prior to a $48M Series A led by Accel, with 10x growth since 2022.
