Founding Product Owner

Role overview

This founding role partners directly with customer engineering teams to shape how software and AI integrations are built, deployed, and supported on a production platform. The work blends customer-facing requirements ownership with hands-on technical delivery across backend services, data systems, and applied AI workflows. It is a full-time position at 40 hours per week, beginning with a three-month evaluation internship.

Responsibilities

- Own the end-to-end customer integration lifecycle, from gathering requirements through delivery, working alongside engineering teams. - Coordinate the build and deployment of backend microservices and REST APIs in Java (Spring Boot) and Python (FastAPI). - Ensure integrations connect cleanly with PostgreSQL, message queues such as Kafka and Redis, and AWS infrastructure running on Docker and Kubernetes. - Drive the rollout of applied AI features including LLM APIs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and intelligent routing into live customer workloads. - Support debugging, testing, and production reliability work so customer integrations stay stable after launch.

Requirements

- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field. - Solid technical foundation in Java and Python with strong computer science and object-oriented programming fundamentals. - Hands-on experience with REST APIs and frameworks such as Spring Boot or FastAPI. - Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Docker, and basic AWS cloud concepts. - Full-time 40-hour-per-week availability, starting with a three-month evaluation internship before conversion.

Nice to have

- Experience with Kafka, Redis, or vector databases. - Basic React and TypeScript skills. - Open-source contributions, GitHub projects, or hackathon builds.

Benefits and work setup

Compensation after the evaluation period is described as $64,000–$100,000 per year based on performance.
