About this role
Role overview Build and modernize digital health software used in addiction care and research. You’ll contribute across mobile, web, desktop, and biofeedback products, with responsibilities ranging from supporting existing teams to taking greater ownership of a product area. Development is guided by research goals, feedback from clinicians and patients, and the quality and documentation standards needed for medical software.
Responsibilities - Develop and maintain a behavioral health mobile app, a clinical decision support platform, and a biofeedback product. - Implement and refine features based on study aims, user feedback, and regulatory updates. - Work across front-end and back-end systems, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure. - Use existing code audit documentation and written conventions to guide changes. - Coordinate with scientific and regulatory colleagues to understand product needs and keep work traceable. - Adjust project focus as funding phases and product priorities change.
Requirements - Full-stack engineering experience relevant to developing and maintaining production software. - Ability to work across applications with different architectures and user interfaces. - Careful approach to software quality, documentation, and traceability. - Interest in understanding the research and clinical context behind product requirements. - Ability to collaborate with a scientific and regulatory lead and incorporate input from product users.
Benefits and work setup - Part-time W-2 role, approximately 15–25 hours per week, remote within the United States. - Work schedule should overlap with Central Time; project work is planned in contiguous blocks, with time tracked by funding source. - Hours may increase as funding milestones are reached. - Compensation depends on experience. Onboarding includes confidentiality requirements and HIPAA training.
