Senior Software Developer

Role overview A remote, full-time senior engineering position focused on building the data and service backbone of a non-emergency medical transportation platform. The work centers on backend services, APIs, and real-time pipelines that coordinate routing, scheduling, and fleet operations so patients reach medical appointments reliably. It is a hands-on problem-solving role that turns manual, fragmented workflows into dependable, automated systems.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js, Python, or Go - Develop real-time data pipelines that ingest telematics, GPS tracking, and fleet telemetry - Improve routing and scheduling logic for multi-stop trips with time-window constraints - Model data and tune performance across Postgres, Redis, and related datastores - Partner with product and operations teams to translate NEMT workflows into software solutions

Requirements - 7+ years of professional backend software development experience - Strong proficiency in at least one backend language such as Node.js, Python, or Go - Hands-on experience with relational databases and data modeling - Solid understanding of REST principles, API design, and asynchronous patterns - Comfortable working remotely with clear, consistent written communication

Nice to have - Experience with real-time data processing or streaming systems - Background in logistics, routing, or geospatial problem-solving - Familiarity with HIPAA compliance or healthcare data handling
