Remote job
DevOps QA Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview A fully remote, full-time role for an engineer to own quality and reliability across infrastructure, deployment workflows, and platform operations. The position focuses on testing and validating the systems that power modern environments, including infrastructure as code, Kubernetes workloads, CI/CD pipelines, cloud configuration, and release processes. It is well suited to someone who thinks through failure modes proactively and can build strong validation practices around DevOps systems.
Responsibilities - Own quality across infrastructure, platform operations, and deployment workflows end to end. - Design, run, and maintain test plans for infrastructure changes, Kubernetes workloads, cloud environments, and CI/CD pipelines. - Validate infrastructure-as-code updates, deployment behavior, rollback safety, environment consistency, and release readiness. - Test Kubernetes-based services for configuration correctness, scaling behavior, networking, secrets handling, health checks, and failure recovery. - Review Terraform changes across environments and confirm infrastructure updates are safe, repeatable, and production-ready. - Partner with DevOps and engineering teams to reproduce issues, isolate root causes, and verify fixes prior to rollout. - Build and maintain automated checks for infrastructure reliability, deployment validation, environment drift, and operational regressions. - Produce clear bug reports and validation records including reproduction steps, expected versus actual behavior, and severity. - Strengthen release confidence through smoke, regression, environment verification, and post-deploy validation.
Requirements - Hands-on experience with infrastructure, deployment workflows, or platform operations in a QA, SRE, or DevOps capacity. - Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipeline design. - Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code patterns and cloud configuration management. - Ability to reason about failure modes, rollback safety, and environment drift. - Experience designing test plans for infrastructure and platform changes. - Clear communication for bug reports, validation records, and cross-team collaboration.
Benefits and work setup - Remote, full-time position on the QA team.
