Full Stack Engineer, Product Platform

Role overview An identity-verification and account-protection company is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to own the platform foundations beneath its product. The work centers on PostgreSQL, public APIs, multi-region architecture, and the governance machinery that makes retention, deletion, and tenant isolation real rather than aspirational, with the backend and data layer as the center of gravity.

Responsibilities - Own the Postgres data layer: schema design, migrations on live systems, indexing, query performance, and connection management. - Build enforced retention, deletion, minimization, access control, and audit-logging mechanisms that reach replicas, caches, and backups. - Design and extend region-aware architecture for routing, storage, replication, and failover, and enforce data residency at the data layer. - Design, version, and deprecate public APIs with stable contracts, plus authentication, authorization, rate limiting, and idempotency behavior. - Operate what you build, debug cross-service issues, build internal tooling and admin surfaces, and improve observability and deployment practices.

Requirements - 5+ years building and operating production backend systems. - Deep PostgreSQL experience including live-system migrations and query optimization. - Strong backend skills in Go, Node.js, Python, Java, or similar, plus enough React to build internal tooling. - Track record maintaining customer-facing APIs with versioning and backwards-compatibility discipline. - Hands-on cloud experience (AWS preferred) covering storage, IAM, and encryption. - Experience with sensitive or regulated data where retention, deletion, and access control were hard requirements.

Nice to have - Multi-region or data-residency-constrained systems, multi-tenant data isolation, BIPA or GDPR implementation, SOC 2/ISO 27001 environments, identity or fraud products, and strong observability or incident-response background.
