About this role
Role overview A part-time working student role for someone interested in building and improving real-time voice software alongside their studies. Depending on your skills and interests, you could contribute to speech and language model evaluation, backend services, web or mobile features, platform operations, or technical sales. The work includes practical tools and experiments as well as production systems.
Responsibilities - Explore voice interaction quality through turn-taking experiments, latency measurements, prompt and tool-call work, and speech-model evaluation. - Support speech-model development through data preparation, GPU training or fine-tuning, and evaluation, including work on German-language voices. - Build Python services and integrations, or develop web and mobile application features. - Help maintain deployment, monitoring, and operational tools for services. - Prepare demos and pilot agents, respond to technical customer questions, and support market research or partner discussions. - Create test calls, benchmarks, and internal tools, and document findings.
Requirements - Current university or Fachhochschule student, or recent graduate, in computer science, engineering, data science, business engineering, or a related field. - Programming experience in Python or TypeScript; engineering contributors should know Git, APIs, and debugging fundamentals. - For commercial work, enough technical understanding to explain products and answer customer questions. - Strong written and spoken English. - Curiosity, ability to learn quickly and work independently, and reliability in meeting agreed hours.
Nice to have - Experience or project work involving LLMs, speech or audio, machine learning, PyTorch, or GPU training. - Familiarity with React, Next.js, mobile development, Docker, Linux, or cloud platforms. - German proficiency, especially for customer-facing work, or an interest in sales and business development.
Benefits and work setup - 30–60% workload, with flexible duration and a schedule that can fit around studies. - Hybrid work in Zürich and remotely; a laptop is provided. - Contributions can reach production, with exposure to a small team and applied voice AI work. - Potential to explore a thesis topic or a full-time engineering or sales role after studies.
