Role overview This position leads the product ownership of digital offerings in the home automation and Internet of Things (IoT) domain. The role is embedded in an engineering organization and serves customers and internal stakeholders across Germany, France, and Switzerland. It is offered as a remote role based in Germany, with collaboration spanning a multilingual, multi-country environment.
Responsibilities - Own and continuously refine the product backlog for connected home and IoT digital products, balancing user value, technical feasibility, and business priorities - Translate product vision into clearly written user stories, acceptance criteria, and release goals for engineering teams - Partner closely with engineering, design, and other cross-functional stakeholders to plan and ship iterative releases - Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for product decisions, scope questions, and prioritization trade-offs - Collect and synthesize input from users, partners, and internal teams to inform roadmap choices and product improvements - Support alignment across teams in multiple European countries, helping bridge language, market, and stakeholder differences
Requirements - Prior experience acting as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or equivalent role on a digital or software-driven product - Familiarity with home automation, IoT, or connected-device product development, including how hardware, firmware, and software layers interact - Working knowledge of Agile or Scrum practices and experience collaborating with engineering teams using these methods - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders across distributed, cross-regional teams - Working proficiency in English; German language skills are typically expected for roles based in Germany (the posting uses the m/w/d convention)
Nice to have - Experience with smart home platforms, connected-device ecosystems, or embedded software products - Background working across multiple European markets, particularly in the DACH region - Comfort navigating both consumer-facing and B2B angles of connected-home products
