Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Databricks - #2

Role overview Operate the production backbone of AI Factory products as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer on assignment with a multinational beverage company based in Mexico City. You will own deployment, job configuration, and end-to-end operation of ML pipelines, ensuring everything from data generation to publishing results runs smoothly across multiple countries. The role pairs hands-on platform engineering with deep collaboration alongside development squads and platform teams in a remote-first startup environment.

Responsibilities - Orchestrate production pipelines on Databricks Jobs, chaining tasks with depends_on relationships and managing failure modes such as ALL_SUCCESS and ALL_DONE - Configure and maintain deployments via Databricks Asset Bundles, promoting across dev, qa, and prd targets with resource and deployment files per country - Manage the full lifecycle of models and artifacts in MLflow and Unity Catalog, including registration, versioning, Champion/Challenger aliases, and rollback - Ensure operational continuity by managing compute across workspaces, standardizing cost-monitoring tags for FinOps, and integrating with AIOps and observability tooling - Master the product end-to-end to diagnose runtime incidents and coordinate effectively with development squads

Requirements - Proven experience orchestrating data and ML pipelines on Databricks, including Jobs, Workflows, and cluster policies - Solid CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps, gitflow, and pull requests, plus Infrastructure-as-Code using Databricks Asset Bundles and Python code quality tooling such as black, isort, and mypy - Advanced Python, SQL, and working knowledge of Delta Lake and Unity Catalog

Nice to have - Experience with multi-country schemas, drift and cost monitoring, and deployment automation - Experience developing AI agents or agentic infrastructure, such as the Mosaic AI Agent Framework, agent orchestration, or MCP - Currently based in Mexico or a nearby time zone with strong overlap with Mexico working hours
