Staff Mobile Security Engineer

Role overview Set the technical direction for mobile security and account integrity across consumer products, protecting the boundary between mobile clients and backend services. This hands-on leadership role combines threat modeling, system design, production engineering, roadmap ownership, and building a team to detect and deter account abuse and fraud at scale.

Responsibilities - Own device and session integrity, including attestation, session enforcement, and stronger authentication across native mobile applications and their backend services. - Design and operate server-authoritative systems to detect and respond to abuse, fraud, credential attacks, and automated activity. - Set a multi-quarter roadmap for account integrity and abuse prevention, balancing security risk with user trust and product growth. - Lead engineers across mobile and backend disciplines through technical direction, design review, and mentoring. - Build production systems and guide the team's security strategy, reliability, and cost-aware operation.

Requirements - 8–10+ years of security engineering experience, including defending consumer-scale mobile products against account takeover, bot abuse, or fraud. - Proven ownership of a security domain, including its technical roadmap, team direction, and outcomes. - Experience designing attestation systems, server-authoritative detection pipelines, or comparable systems facing adaptive adversaries. - Hands-on understanding of native iOS or Android client internals and the distributed backend services they use. - Experience with Go or a similar language and a major cloud provider; AWS experience is preferred. - Experience leading engineers as a manager or technical lead.

Benefits and work setup - Base compensation is listed at $205,000–$256,000, plus a 15% bonus and equity; compensation may vary by level. - Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, health savings account contributions, a 401(k) match, flexible vacation, paid holidays, and a technology package.
